FDP cum workshop on Spirituality in Modern Life by Dr. Vrindavan Chandra Das, Gaurannaga Institute of Vedik Education.

S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute is organizing 3 days Faculty Development Program cum Workshop on ‘Life Enrichment through Human Values’ from 5th April to 7th April 2023.  The inaugural session was conducted though virtual mode by Namokar Manta and Subodh Centenary anthem in the beginning. The chairperson Prof. (Dr) Raju Agrawal, Director, S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute welcomed the keynote speaker, academicians and participants and highlighted the importance of the spirituality. He said that Depression is an intensifying problem of the modern world and spirituality is the solution. It brings back the lost balance in life. Everybody needs peace. Spirituality has been linked to Better health, Greater psychological well-being, less depression, less hypertension, less stress, even during difficult times, more positive feelings, and Superior ability to handle stress and so on.  Dr.Vridavan Chandra Das, Gaurannaga Institute of Vedic Education (GIVE) was the keynote speaker of the inaugural session on ‘Spirituality in Modern Life’. He shared that definition of modern changes with passage of time.  More so in this modern world, this is pretty much advanced and is still advancing every second. There was a time when people used to live close to nature, lived simpler lives and the world was not as complex as it is now. The outer as well as the inner infrastructure of the world did not upset the people much. Lesser expectations, better relationships and thus a balanced personal life, is the key to a successful professional life. The better we feel, the more peaceful the mind is. A peaceful mind thinks clearly and logically.  Advancement of life does not depend on others. Purpose of life has never changed, it is about eternal happiness. Material knowledge does not provide us with the answers to the big questions in life. What is the ultimate purpose of my life? Who am I? Why have I come to this world? If we do not know the answers to these questions, then we are simply running around in the world, not knowing even the goal of life. Where religion ends spirituality begins. Religion is about faith whereas spirituality is eternal and consists of facts. The Vedas inform us that we are not material bodies made of matter; we are souls, divine and immortal. We are not material beings having a spiritual experience. Rather, we are spiritual beings having a material experience in this world of money. Hence, our mundane day-to-day experiences leave us dissatisfied. Our soul yearns to connect with something sacred and higher than us. Spirituality is the key for eternal happiness. Ms. Parul Bhargava, Assistant Professor cum Placement Faculty, S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute, Jaipur well coordinated the program and delivered vote of thanks.  The session was very insightful with fruitful interactions between the speaker and the participants. More than 300 participants across the nation were connected with Zoom and YouTube live.
