Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Creative Thinking

It is evident that Entrepreneurial ventures and Startups are crucial in bringing about societal change as well as driving economic recovery and responsible growth.  India has a total 81 Unicorn as of now, with a total valuation of $274 billion. Also 90 founders among 500 U.S Unicorns were Indian born. The world is transforming with ideas and innovation of entrepreneurship and innovation. It will not be wrong to say that Indians are and will play a vital role in the global landscape of entrepreneurship and innovation. Keeping the importance of startups, entrepreneurship and innovation in mind, a workshop on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” as Career Opportunity was organized under the aegis of Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC) of S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute in which students and faculty members of the institution participated.

At the beginning of the program, Prof. Dr. Raju Agarwal, IIC President welcomed everyone and highlighted the importance of Startup, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He said that Startups and entrepreneurs are the centers of innovation; Entrepreneurs create jobs which mean more employment, and more employment means an improved economy. Entrepreneurs are a catalyst for economic growth both globally and locally. The value that startups create is nearly on par with the GDP of a G7 economy. He requested all the participants to do something new according to their skills, and work capability, and then bring it to the market so that they can create self-employment as well as employment opportunities for others rather than seeking a job as career milestone. Ms. Soniya Maheshwari (Life Coach and Business Trainer, Simple Solutions) was the keynote speaker of the program.

She said that the startup ecosystem in India contributes immensely to economic prosperity in enhancing the growth of the Nation. A startup is a young company established by one or more entrepreneurs to create unique and irreplaceable products or services. Startups have contributed tremendously. In recent time, Indian startups are gradually progressing and evolving into global entities formulating business products, and solutions for the International market. Global data shows that entrepreneurial ventures have created more jobs in our Nation than any large companies or enterprises. Both entrepreneurs and employees are significant in this world. It all depends on one’s goals and personality. Both have the potential to be successful in their own way and need not label as either an employee or an entrepreneur to be happy. Entrepreneurs can totally change the way we live and work.

If successful, their revolutions can improve society’s standard of living. They also make a significant contribution to national income. IIC Coordinator Mrs. Kaneenika Jain concluded the workshop and said that Entrepreneurship is about ideas, creations and developing something new. It is also about solving problems in a unique way and targeting opportunities. Job is all about the continuation of the same work often done in a much better way for survival. The Management students should think about entrepreneurship and innovation as career opportunity for better growth of economy in India. Mrs. Parul Bhargava (IIC Member) coordinated the program and extended the vote of thanks. More than 65 students and 6 faculty members participated in the workshop.
